WHO ARE WBBCP?

WBBCP (formerly known as Wigan ‘Shop Watch’) is a retail crime prevention partnership comprising retailers, security operatives and Police Community Support Officers from GMP supported by the Wigan CCTV suite.

WHAT WE DO

Formed by Wigan town centre management and funded by CPD Communications, the Wigan Business Crime Partnership (WBBCP) operates through a two-way radio system that allows members to alert each other when a crime-related incident occurs — a system that has also proven instrumental in locating vulnerable and missing persons. The primary aim of WBBCP is to provide a coordinated approach to retail crime prevention and detection, achieved through: information sharing with members and partner agencies about both local and travelling offenders; gathering and sharing intelligence with similar schemes across the North West; implementing an exclusion scheme that prohibits offenders from entering any member premises; conducting store security assessments with training where required; and working to reduce criminal losses to retailers not just locally but across entire businesses.

CPD COMMUNICATIONS

CPD Communications Ltd have been involved in Shop/Pub Watch schemes for over 10 years and are the ‘ONLY’ Radio supplier to privately fund a dedicated ‘Crime Coordinator’ to assist the schemes. CPD Communications supply 2 way Radios to many large businesses across the UK .
